| description | Angiomyomatous hamartoma is a rare benign proliferative lesion of lymph nodes, showing replacement of the lymph node parenchyma by irregular thick-walled blood vessels, smooth muscle, fibrotic stroma and variable amount of adipose tissue. These histologic features greatly overlap with those described in angiomyolipoma, a member of the perivascular epithelioid cell tumor (PEComa) family. We present a unique case of angiomyomatous hamartoma of a periaortic lymph node, which mimicked lymph node involvement in a patient with renal angiomyolipoma on hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained slides alone.
