Summary:There are the concept of mild cognitive decline (Mild cognitive impairment - MCI) and current approaches to the diagnosis pre-dementia (symptomatic) stage of Alzheimer’s disease in this discussing article. The article highlights previously attempts of preventive treatment of dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease. This article discusses the results of the new clinical and neurobiological research aimed at finding the clinical and biological monitoring methods and the prognosis of prolonged effects of different types of neuroprotective therapy (on models of therapeutic courses with Cerebrolysin and Citicoline).
