Description
Summary:This article highlights relevant aspects of design, multimediality and interactivity in two on-line newspapers: La Vanguardia (Spanish) and Gazeta do Povo (Brazilian). The ways in which these three characteristics are used were studied in order to document the state of the art of web journalism, pointing out peculiarities and/or standards of digital dailies. We understand that the production of meaning starts with the organization of the elements that comprise an online newspaper, such as the design of the graphical interface, the devices created to interact with the public, or the video formats available on the site. Within the adopted methodology, we emphasize devices created for the research project “Journalism on the Internet: a comparative study of Brazilian/Spanish cybermedia”, which is sponsored by CAPES – Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Postgraduate Education (Brazil).
