| Summary: | In this article, different types of narrative insertions within the structure of sentimental fiction texts are studied. These insertions can be either endogenous, when it is the sentimental text that incorporates them (whether it be homogeneous or heterogeneous), or exogenous, when the sentimental novels fall within other structures. When the matter of love occupies one or several episodes of the work, through a thematic relationship with them due to the overlapping of the characters, the phenomenon of narrative projection occurs, a mechanism of generic perpetuation and generally subsequent to that of interpolations. Diverse narrative examples from the 15th to the 17th centuries are adduced in order to illustrate the above-mentioned subjects.
