description | Objective To evaluate PDCA circulation method in the management of teaching rounds of residents in department of diagnostic ultrasound. Methods PDCA circulation method was applied to the teaching rounds in department of ultrasound in Peking University Third Hospital from 2013—2019, and each circulation lasted for one year. PDCA circulation consists of four stages: plan, performance(do), check, and action. During the practice, the problems of the teaching round forms and contents were reviewed and modified to pick up content which were more suitable to department of diagnostic ultrasound. The improvement in teachers'assessment and training was also made according to the limitations in teacher training. Results PDCA circulation method improved the training quality of residents. All the residents in the third training year were competent to clinical performance and the residents all passed the phase Ⅰ skill examination of the standardized training in the past three years. Conclusions PDCA circulation method improves quanlity of teaching rounds and the training outcomes of residents in the department of diagnostic ultrasound. |
