Description
Summary:The article analyses the food securing in early childhood education settings as a contextualized and established set of cultural practices. The investigation is based on a children’s bodies and health research in France and Norway. It emphasizes the food taboos and the schemes of classification that organize the perception of risks, whether it is a matter of social organization of meals or that of food composition. It reveals the particularities of the food socialization processes that take place in these institutions, and, in the same time, the differences in sharing of responsibility for the food security between public and private spheres.
