Summary: | Conservation of buildings which have cultural heritage quality has become a necessity in our rapidly changing built environment. Since industrial establishments witness social changes and possess a kind of urban memory, industrial heritage is also considered as cultural heritage. The need to preserve this heritage has emerged, as well. In this context, industrial and spatial dimensions of carpet business facilities which are one of the elements of Turkish national cultural heritage is an important issue that should be examined. Spinning factories and dyehouses in Isparta are on of the historical impressions of the history of the city related with carpet business. In this study it was pointed out to the historical history about carpet business of Isparta
City, spinning factories and dyehouses belonging to carpet business were documented and were evaluated by examining the environmental, spatial, structural, architectural trends, equipment analysis in view of architectural identity. In conclusion, the carpet industry in Isparta, which has shaped social, economic and
cultural structure of the city, should be handed down the next generations with its spatial characteristic which is worth preserving. These structures, which will contribute to the urban identity will both be conserved and maintain their cultural
