The sample of this study included 30 couples (60 persons) who had been chosen from those who were available and volunteers. They were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Couples in the experimental group received Islamic-oriented couple therapy. Both groups took the post test. The results of analyses of covariance showed that Islamic-oriented couple therapy significantly affected marital optimism and its subscales (p=0.001). There was no significant difference between men and women’s marital optimism. The interaction between therapy and gender was not significant. |
