Description
Summary:The Professional Master's Degree in History Teaching (ProfHistoria) presents as one of its proposals the continuing education of History teachers who work in basic education. One of the obligatory disciplines present in the curricular structure of this Postgraduate Program (PP) is “Theory of History”. Considering the scope of this PP, the demands brought by teachers of basic education from their contexts of professional insertion and the purposes and objectives of this discipline, we are interested, in this article, in analyzing the profile that it has assumed in the context of ProfHistoria. For this, we explored the programs of the discipline "Theory of History", offered by several Universities that make up the network between 2014 and 2019, made available on the Program's website. The analysis points to the need to undiscipline the Theory of History aimed at teachers in effective exercise under the risk of the Program failing in its objective of offering theoretical subsidies to meet the demands of identity/difference that challenge History classes.
