Summary: | This paper concerns the middle plain between Panaro and Reno rivers in northern Italy (Bologna and Modena provinces). This region is particularly rich of information (archaeological and palaeo-environmental data), helpful to develop a methodological discussion about the reconstruction of ancient landscape and to propose the interpretation of settlement pattern of the Bronze Age. The steps considered hereby include a definition of alluvial geoarchaeological contexts, to share the debate about the interaction between natural landscape and anthropic aspects, as well as an illustration of the archaeological records of settlement of the Bronze Age in the Po plain.
