Description
Summary:The oxidation of aqueous cyanides in packed columns has been studied. The experiment was performed in three different temperatures on inert packing at co- and counter-current conditions. In addition to this, experiments made on room temperature were repeated in the presence of catalyst. After reaching to steady state in each case, cyanide concentrations of liquid samples taken from the column outlet were titrimetrically determined. Oxidation yields were calculated by comparing these values to the initial ones. As a result, it was observed that the oxidation yield was increased with increasing of temperature and addition of catalyst.
