Summary:A common synthetic procedure for the synthesis of (9Z,12Z)-18-hydroxy-9,12- octadecadienoic acid (18-HODE) and (9Z,12Z,15Z)-18-hydroxy-9,12,15- octadecatrienoic acid (18-HOTrE) – analogues of substrates of plant lipids oxygenation was developed. The synthetic route is based on formation of polyacetylenic precursors followed by stereoselective reduction of the triple bonds on Lindlar’s catalyst.
