In commemoration of Alfred Wegener (1880-1930), 120 years after his birth and 70 years after his death

Wegener made an astounding scientific contribution to many different subjects. His books became wellknown textbooks as well as a basis for weighty scientific discussions. His ideas and hypotheses were trail breaking, although often not understood during his lifetime.
