Description
Summary:In the light of a research program on knowledge and social inequalities in the field of health and social services, pursued in a Montreal research center, this paper presents a critical reflection on the concept of “co-construction” of knowledge. It addresses four epistemological and political challenges that social science scholars should consider with a particular attention. Despite these challenges, co-construction of knowledge appears as an eminently subversive research practice regarding existing hierarchies within knowledge and it constitutes a necessary horizon of my sociological practice.
