Description
Summary:This study promotes the research of trap music, one of the most mediatic, and therefore controversial, of our sociocultural environment, from literary theory, with the conviction that it shows the authenticity of the object of analysis as well as the flexibility of the resources that literary studies have provided us with. We suggest, in this way, the reading of trap music corpus as a performance, eccentric and moody, from the premise of the lyrics of Yung Beef and Khaled that names this paper, to question the aesthetics values entitled by the academic criticism and the highbrow products. Thus, we intend not only to broaden the reading horizons of cultural objects that surround us, but also to skip the theorical gap that lies between Academy and society.
