description | Post-apocalyptic zombie tales have invaded literature and cinema since the end of the 1960s and the classical films by George A. Romero. However, the zombies only started appearing on television in the late 2000s (such as The Walking Dead or IZombie). Among the new narratives that offer a serial treatment of this monstrous figure, Z Nation (2014-2018) brings a new perspective on zombie apocalypse. While following the traditions of the genre, this particular American TV show breaks away from realistic codes in order to further explore not only zombies themselves, but also the societal collapse these monsters almost systematically bring about. |
