Description
Summary:To determine which would be the rate of chlorpyrifos, applied through center pivot and to control corn rootworm, a trial was installed in 1995 in Nova Fátima, (PR) - Brazil, with four rates of chlorpyrifos plus the untreated. The product was injected at the center pivot base through a diaphragm injection pump, and results showed significant treatment differences which allowed to conclude that (i) chlorpyrifos is effective to control corn rootworm when applied through insectigation and that (ii) the rate needed to achieve maximum root damage of 2,5 (in a 1-6 scale) is 961 g of chlorpyrifos per hectare.
