Summary:This case study illustrates how Argos achieved to become one of the largest cement and concrete suppliers of Latin America, in spite of the fact that some of its production facilities are located in armed conflict areas. For that reason, the company implemented various corporate social responsibility strategies to overcome the difficulties of operating in these areas. These strategies contributed to the consolidation of the company’s operations under a single juridical and administrative entity, and facilitated the internationalization process to Central America, the Caribbean and the United States.<br>Este caso de estudio empresarial muestra cómo la compañía Argos logró convertirseen uno de los proveedores de cemento y concreto más grandes de Latinoamérica,a pesar de que algunas de sus plantas productoras se encontraban ubicadas enzonas de conflicto armado, razón por la cual se desarrollaron diferentes iniciativasde responsabilidad social corporativa que permitieron operar en estas zonas.Garantizada la continuidad del negocio, las autoridades de Argos decidenconsolidar todas sus operaciones en una sola razón jurídica y administrativa yllevar a la empresa a un proceso de internacionalización en Centroamérica, Caribey Estados Unidos.
