description The community of Hawkesbury, located in Eastern Ontario, is facing many social and economic issues. In order to find solutions to those multiple challenges, the strategic and community development officer set up a Living Lab bringing together fifteen stakeholders from different backgrounds. This co-construction process, which took place from September 2020 to November 2021, allowed the actors to identify local problems, build a common vision and imagine projects to respond to these challenges. This study, based on a participatory observation method, seeks to analyze the practices of the Living Lab through a specific dimension: the need to build a collective legitimacy in order to motivate private, citizen and public actors to implement community development projects.
