| Summary: | This paper discusses the topic of cultural tourism and museums. It is based on survey of visitors to Museu do Homem do Nordeste (MUHNE), in order to identify the cultural tourist profile who visited this equipment during the years from 2009 to 2011. The result of the tabulation and analysis of satisfaction and demand questionnaire applied to the MUHNE tourists was compared with the results of the research on the profile of cultural tourists applied by the Association for Tourism and Leisure Education (ATLAS), this comparative analysis provides information that may suggest actions, projects, marketing and policies aimed at attracting an audience ever-increasing of cultural consumers: the cultural tourists.
