Summary: | Cases of orographically increased wind speed of SE directions over Moravia and Czech territory (an area of 250 x 100 km) are dealt with. The acceleration of the SE flow is characterized by presenting several examples and the typical synoptic situations are shown at which the phenomenon occurs with high probability. A non-hydrostatic model with two horizontal grid steps (9.3 and 2 km) is used for a diagnostic simulation of the wind field at a level of 10 m above complex terrain. The model is able to modify the horizontally homogeneous flow so that the resultant flow is in accordance with the observed structure. |
