description The aim of this study was to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors for learning biology during the COVID - 19 pandemic in Metro City. And to see the effectiveness of learning biology during the COVID -19 pandemic in Metro City. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in the form of case studies, this is because all aspects of data collection do not go unnoticed and need a detailed and systematic description. The conclusions of the research are: 1) The inhibiting factors for learning from home in high school biology subjects in Metro City are unstable network conditions, the presence of students who are not present in the implementation of online biology learning, the economic conditions of students, and not all students have gadgets or gadgets. laptops; 2) Factors that support learning from home on biology subjects in high school in Metro City are the technology that is utilized by using the internet network, facilitated learning places, adequate learning resources, and learning media, lesson plans designed by teachers, enthusiastic attitude and sense of responsibility of students in studying, and adequate infrastructure; 3)  the level of effectiveness of learning biology during the COVID-19 pandemic in Metro City based on the assessment of teachers and students Teachers and students who assessed that learning was very effective as much as 2.89%, effective as much as 90%, quite effective as much as 5.56%, not effective as much as 1.11% and those who rate very ineffective as much as 0.44%.Kata kunci :  biologi SMA, model pembelajaran daring, pandemi covid – 19
