Summary:In this paper, it is ınvestigated relations between the Ottoman State and Candaroğulları which was established in paflagonya, from its founding until the time of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. This relationship generally in the form of friendship and solidarity, but rarely ıt was in the direction of hostility. Bithynia was the core region of the Ottoman Principality which was near Candaroğulları Principality, thus closeness affected this friendship. However, both principalities belong to Kayı tribe, this situation had more effect in this friendly relations rather than geographical closeness. According to Yazicizade Ali’s Selçukname, Husameddin Choban and Candaroğulları dynasty also belong to Kayı tribe. Marriages between Candarogulları palace and Ottoman palaces has been transformed this friendship into kinship. Candarogulları’s support and assistance has been very effective in the first period Ottoman raids and gasas against the Byzantine and political and military activities in Anatolia. Because of these assistances, members of the Candarogulları dynasty employed in the Ottoman bureaucracy for important services for along time
