description This study investigates the impact of the conditional cash transfer program or locally known as Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) on the socio-economic status of selected household beneficiaries in Hilongos Leyte, Philippines. This study aimed to compare the household income and education expenditure between household beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries. The pooled regression analysis was applied to assess the determinants of household income and education expenditure. Education expenditure is significantly affected by parental education, employment status and number of children. The method of difference in difference shows that the impact of the conditional cash transfer on the household income is positive and significant. However, result for the education expenditure is not significant suggesting no statistical difference in education expenditure between beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries. Key informant interviews revealed that children under the 4Ps program were able to attend more school days as compared to the non-beneficiaries. To further document the impact of the program, the local government unit should allocate more time for monitoring and evaluation to maximize the benefits from the program.
