Description
Summary:Physical, sexual and psychological mistreatment has a direct impact on the woman’s body, specially, if she has also suffered child abuse. The woman’s body is harmed on its integrity, its female condition and her own body image and the others’ representation of her image. The door to herself, to the others, and to the world has been closed. From the Art therapy perspective a new threshold will be offered, that is, her own artistic productions. In this way, from the back and forth path between herself and her art work the door will be opened again, recovering her body control.
