description | The Covid-19 crisis has given a turn to our lives and our souls. The economy has slowed down, our habits transformed. We feel fear and uncertainty about the future. We trusted the human king masteredeverything; but the pandemic teaches the opposite. The virus appears as a form of life that uses the cells of other living beings to incubate (los virus no se encuban), nourish and reproduce; it is a large-scale threat. The development of the pandemic reveals the depth of the spiritual crisis that is blindly going through our society: corruption continues to encamp within many public and private institutions. The characteristic individualism of the current globalizing world is evident. However, this crisis can teach us something about ourselves, about nature, and on the world. What should be the role of philosophy in the face of this colossal test? Shouldn't it be to show people a way of thought and action, in the manners of the ancient philosophers? This paper pretends to present an approach to the, extensive and rich, tradition of philosophy, understood as a philosophical way of life mediated by the practice of spiritual exercises and its applicability to the current context of the crisis caused by the covid-19 pandemic. This task includes trying to interpret the epidemic pandemic from a philosophical and spiritual scale, which implies a return to knowledge and awareness of oneself, of the meaning of life, humanity and nature. It will be planned that, faced with the vicissitudes of existence, ancient philosophers proposed different ways to face them and thus achieve peace and spiritual tranquility. |
