Description
Summary:Background. Eriogaster lanestris (Linnaeus, 1758) is a rare representative of the family Lasiocampidae, which is distributed in Penza region. Materials and methods. In the 3rd decade of May, during the study of the clearing, which is located in the vicinity of std Medik, it was possible to find a large number of young nests of the above species. In addition to observations made in nature, laboratory cultivation was carried out. Results. After that, observations were carried out, during which it was possible to establish the time of development of larve in nature, as well as their death from various factors. During the laboratory work, it was possible to select optimal conditions for the development of larves of E. lanestris. The cocoons obtained as a result of the work done successfully overwintered, after which the hatched moths were released into nature. Conclusions. The results obtained in the course of this work can be applied to increase the number of the fluffy E. lanestris in nature.
