Teigiama, kad šis sufiksas atsirado gramatikalizuojant deiktinę dalelytę <em>*a, </em>kuri kontaminavusi su deiktine dalelyte <em>*(e/o)T. </em>Taip susiformavo vienas iš vėlesnės nominalinės paradigmos fleksinių elementų. Dėstomą aiškinimą remia tai, kad toks procesas yra patikimas tipologiškai ir dažnas ide. kalbose bei ankstyvosiose tarmėse.</span></p> |
