Summary:The pronoia as type of land holding through Byzantium began to live in medieval Serbia. The aim of this paper is to study characteristics and diffusion of this kind of estate in the state under the rule of Serbian despots. I will make comparison with the functioning of the system of pronoia in Byzantium during the 15 century. It should be noted that this topic has already attracted the attention of researchers whose findings will be reconsidering.
