Endovascular treatment of superficial femoral, profunda femoral and popliteal artery aneurysms 10 years after open popliteal artery aneurysm repair

Recurrent popliteal artery aneurysms following previous surgical repair are rarely reported and lack a definitive treatment algorithm. description Recurrent popliteal artery aneurysms following previous surgical repair are rarely reported and lack a definitive treatment algorithm. Also rare are true aneurysms of the superficial femoral (SFA) and profunda femoral (PFA) arteries. These too lack definitive guidelines on how or when to treat, although open ligation or resection with or without reconstruction have been described. Endovascular treatment for SFA aneurysms has scarcely been reported, while coil embolization is the primary described endovascular treatment for PFA aneurysms. We, herein, describe a total endovascular treatment for a patient who, in addition to true SFA and PFA aneurysms, had continued aneurysmal degeneration of the proximal and distal native popliteal artery ten years after interposition bypass graft.
