Summary:Objective: To analyze studies about the education of caregivers of children with cancer. Methods: This is a review of 19 studies published in indexed journals. Reading and integration of the findings were made with the Atlas Ti software. Version 6.0. Results: The findings show that in addition to information about the disease, caregivers need to be educated about seeking social support. Education must be in the context of an interaction and where communication is open, concrete, clear and consistent the needs of the caregiver. Caregivers claim compassionate and willing to listen, not overwhelm them with lots of information, but accompanying them in professional continuous process. Conclusion: Each caregiver must have unique needs of education and to the extent that these are met can mitigate the negative impacts of the role. This review was an input to guide education in caregivers of children with cancer; it reflects an overview of their needs and how these are addressed.
