Summary:The main goal of this study is to highlight the many challenges that electronic voting systems faced. Blockchain technology is an attractive alternative to conventional electronic voting systems especially for functionalities such as distributed system, non-repudiation and security. Blockchain has been mainly used to develop electronic voting applications, due to the end-to-end authentication benefits. The analysis performed in this article allowed to define main benefits and challenges of various systems. Despite the online voting benefits, this solution introduce new threats and one single vulnerability can lead to large-scale manipulations of votes.
