The article deals withthe reasons for interpretation of the excerpt according to the genre of “typological exe-gesis” as a messianic allusion to Deuteronomy 33. 8-11, that is to say: 1) there are argu-ments testifying that Christian tradition might have related a holy man from the passage,Deuteronomy 33. 8-11, to character of Moses, who is the typological prototype of Christin Christian tradition; 2) author examines the structure of certain units of the text fromthe synoptic Gospels and shows the outstanding nature and messianic significance of theexcerpt Matthew 12. 46 ff. and paral.; 3) the article contains evidence from the writingsof Fathers of the Church, early Christian and Qumran traditions, revealing relationsbetween lack of kinship, abnegation from family and predestination to higher ministry.The interpretation offered here does not rule out the traditional commentary to Matthew12. 46 ff. completely, but offers an additional way of interpreting the episod |
