description | This study aims to test the effect of compliance with corporate governance principles, which is considered as a coercive isomorphism mechanism, on corporate reputation and to determine the moderating role of family ownership in this relationship. Analyzes were made using data on compliance with corporate governance principles, corporate reputation, and family ownership ratios over a sample of 70 firms selected from the manufacturing industry firms traded in Borsa Istanbul. Age, business size (number of employees, revenue), foreign ownership ratio, and financial performance variables (as market-based indicators; Tobin’s q and stock return rate, and as accounting-based indicators; ROA and ROE) used as the control variables. As a result of the analyses, we have found that compliance with corporate governance principles, as a coercive mechanism of isomorphism, positively affects corporate reputation and the effect of compliance with corporate governance principles on corporate reputation is positive and stronger for the higher levels of family ownership. |
