Summary:The prevalence of gastrointestinal (GI) parasites and the efficacy of Dectomax (Doramectin) against these parasites was studied. For this purpose, 50 camels were selected from different localities of Faisalabad, their faecal samples were collected and examined for the parasitism. The overall prevalence of G1 parasites was 60%. Species wise prevalence of these parasites was: 20, 14, 8, 4, 4 and 10% for Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Stronglyloides, Ostertagia, Moneizia expansa and mixed infection, respectively. The efficacy of Dectomax was 75-90% and it may be used for the treatment of G1 parasites in camels.
