Description
Summary:Following the steps of the SBHE and other researchers, this work aims at focusing on the necessity to systematically discuss the question of how the history of education is being taught in Brazil. Even though it has been part of the official curriculum of teacher training colleges since the XIXth century, which partly explains its somehow precarious legitimacy in the educational field, the teaching of the history of education has not yet been the object of a systematic reflection among those who make use of it, be them professors or researchers. In this work, we will offer a few analyses of how the history of Brazilian education is approached by five institutions of further education in Belo Horizonte. In order to do so, we analysed eight programmes elaborated by teachers of the given institutions and offered to the students of pedagogy courses there.
