description This article develops the definition of resilience from different authors and its importance in the incorporation of both the mental health area and physical health, specifically resilience in children and adolescents will be treated, marking their differences in terms of sex and age. On the other hand, the concept of coping is described, also analyzed in children and adolescents, and the different coping strategies used by them. In order to articulate both concepts, the role of parenthood in the development of strategies to face adversity is considered; and as a last point, educational institutions are analyzed and how they can promote the use of the aforementioned ones.
