description A common problem in practice is the comparison of two dependent samples. One possibility to evaluate such data is to compute the difference for each pair and apply a one-sample test. In this paper we discuss three nonparametric tests for the comparison of paired samples (i.e. one-sample tests). We present a macro written in SAS/IML to perform these tests as exact permutation tests. The macro is based on a shift-algorithm presented by Munzel & Brunner (2002) [1].
