This circumstance entails some especial meaning when referring to the core of relationship doctor/patient. The biomedicine is one of the established forms of care and disease in most of different societies and has become (the medical hegemonic pattern) identified as the most accurate and efficient procedure to meet health/ disease process. Being subjective when considering disease and its management by the individual means searching new therapies and alternatives to give an answer to all type of needs and not just simply curing them, something that for the time being and through biomedicine only has not yet been fulfilled. Of course, this option is not exempt from the exposure to a medical treatment. Hence the importance of a deep study together with its relationship with present hegemonic medicine because current users of alternative therapies and traditional medicine may have certain knowledge in biomedicine and therefore some sort of expectations in scientific know-how regarding the use of such alternative therapies.
