Description
Summary:The research interest of American historians in the Spanish Civil War between 1998 and 2007 has been quite little. This may lead one to conclude that they operate in a languid way. However, their research works are generally of good quality and sometimes of innovative character. Frequently, they examine the war from an American and international perspective which provides useful complement to those of Spanish origin. Either because of the limited nature of the new generation or new historical trends that are broading the field of studies, American studies have been limited to a handful of topics some of them from a social or cultural perspective. Most common of these in political history, there are also a lot on the role of women. One can conclude that American hispanism enjoys an excellent historiographical health.
