The poetry produced during days of his imprisonment forms almost two third part of his whole work. He used poetic diction, similes, metaphors and other poetic elements with addition of new meanings to them. His work depicts the troubles of imprisonment and it expressed the strong spirit of patriotism too. In his poetry the subjects related to social and political life are reflected through portrayal of human feelings and passions. Description of love and other incidents of life are also part and parcel of his poetry. |
