description Background and Aims: To assess seminal microbiome and its impact on semen parameters, Male genitourinary tract infections are believed to affect reproductive health and affect semen quality. Despite a possible link between bacteria and infertility, few studies have attempted to characterize the seminal microbiota in healthy and diseased subjects. Methods: The microbial composition was analysed by 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene amplification with (MinION) oxford Nanopore Ltd. In a cohort of infertility-related cases (N = 166) and controls (N = 69). Results: Diverse kinds of bacteria were present in most of the samples from infertile patients with normal and abnormal semen parameters, the bacterial communities varied widely between subjects, however, statistical tests showed a significant negative association between sperm quality and the presence of certain pathogenic bacteria. In seminal hyper-viscosity group had a lower abundance of the probiotic’s lactobacillus and a higher abundance of infections Proteobacteria. In addition, the principal component analysis (PCA) revealed a difference in microbial composition between the normal and abnormal groups, as well as a larger microbial abundance in hyper-viscosity and oligoasthenospermia; samples compared to control groups. Conclusions: We intend to describe seminal microbe’s role in reproduction as well as association with male infertility. Our results suggested that microbes play an important role in our life as they can have negative as well as positive impact of semen associated with male factor fertility.
