This text is an attempt to reflect the distortions that can arise from adislocation of a cultural production outside of its context.Este artigo – unindo as perspectivas historiográfica, antropológica e musicológica– busca examinar aspectos fundamentais da música indígena brasileira, particularmente a suadimensão social e a história de sua apropriação e restrição pela cultura ocidental. Busca-se,sobretudo, refletir sobre a inadequação de abordagens que – até a primeira metade do séculoXX e em alguns casos persistindo ainda hoje – examinaram a prática musical indígena a partirde critérios de escuta e de anotação exclusivamente calcados nos parâmetros ocidentais. Otexto intenta refletir sobre as distorções que podem surgir com o deslocamento de umadeterminada produção cultural para fora de seu contexto. |
