Summary: | In this paper, the Author analyses the fundamental reasons for the disintegration of Europe. Mis- trust towards European institutions is a symptom of deeper problems, such as the economic and financial crisis, migration flows and terrorism. All themes that refer to the thesis of a ‘tired Europe’ announced by Edmund Husserl. However, the Author believes that opening up to the Mediterra- nean is not the problem of Europe, but a great opportunity for its recovery thanks to the contribu- tion of the ‘newcomers’. |
