description The aim of this study was to construct and validate a life meaning test based on Islamic sources. This descriptive-analytical study was conducted with a survey method. 142 cases were placed in 35 criteria after reviewing verses and narratives. The content validity of this study was confirmed by referring to Islamic experts' and psychologists' ideas and it resulted into the reduction of the criteria to 19. The factor analysis of a sample of 440 selected among the students of Islamic Azad University of Qom showed that there are three factors of value meaningfulness, knowledge meaningfulness, and life meaninglessness. The reliability of the test was confirmed by three methods of internal consistency (with Cronbach's alpha of 0.94), splitting it in half, and re-testing. Its validity was also confirmed by three methods of criterion validity (convergent/divergent), expert's ideas, and concept validity (factor analysis). Therefore, this test is able to measure the rate of life meaning based on Islamic sources.
