Summary:The publication presents a continuation of the manuscript “At the Dawn” (1943–1948) by A.M. Remizov, based on author’s letters to his wife, S.P. Remizova-Dovgello, for 1921–1922. Although the writer’s letters reflect the discrete periods of first two émigré years in Berlin, yet they contain a detailed description of his day’s work, literary contacts and life of a Russian emigrant during inflation period. The Appendix contains Remizov’s original letters, which make it possible to evaluate methods of transformation of epistolary documents and analyze Remizov’s creative strategy concerning autobiographical works. The publication is illustrated with rare archival materials.
