Supershells in the M33 Galaxy

We report preliminary results of the study of 18 supershells located in the Southern arm of the M33 galaxy. Their age, size, and expansion velocity were determined and compared with the parameters of the HI holes detected in M33. We conclude that the accurate identification of the supershells from H...

description We report preliminary results of the study of 18 supershells located in the Southern arm of the M33 galaxy. Their age, size, and expansion velocity were determined and compared with the parameters of the HI holes detected in M33. We conclude that the accurate identification of the supershells from HI observations can be effectively supplemented by simultaneous use of the Hα, CO, and dust emission maps, as well as resolved stellar photometry data.
