Description
Summary:This article pursues the work of some intellectuals of Umbanda during the 1930s and 1940s, particularly relying on its relationship with the New State. During this period, the intellectuals of Umbanda looked for their interlocutors par excellence in the state, trying to assert the identity of the new religion as being in total agreement with the nation and the state´s representation touted by the regime. As a result, a conciliatory and harmonic speech of Brazil and of Umbanda takes shape, approaching the mixed and triadic vision touted by the state.
