Summary:The article analyzes the environment of functioning of the domestic enterprises – actors of FEA, identifies peculiarities of establishing their economic security. It is proposed not only analyze the institutional environment at macro and meso levels, but also determine the features of institutional arrangements within the contract paradigm. It has been emphasized that, while interacting in the sphere of FEA, the actors conclude deals, and the dealing in the domestic market can differ substantially from the dealing in the foreign markets. It is proved that the increased complexity of the institutional arrangements in the foreign markets should be compensated through the relevant benefits or advantages for economic entities. Features of formation of the principal-agent relations in the sphere of FEA have been determined, taking into account the opportunistic behavior and asymmetry of information. Roles of the actors involved in the sphere of foreign economic activity have been specified, taking account of their impact on the economic security of enterprises
