description In her biographical account, Urszula Pogoda sheds light on everyday life in the rural Opole region. She focuses in particular on the period of childhood, while her reminiscences include references to events that were important on both a regional level, such as the construction of the Pilgrims’ Home on St. Anne Mountain, and at an international level, such as the Upper Silesian Tragedy or the postwar shifting borders, as a result of which the area of today's Opole region and its inhabitants became the subjects of a new state. This account was recorded in November 2016 by Karolina Domańska during the realization of the project titled: “Postwar Everyday Life in the Opole Region as Remembered by Its Inhabitants” financed by the “Remembrance and Future” Centre in Wroclaw as part of the sixth edition of the Oral History Grant.
